Yana Fay Dzedze

consultant & writer

Yana Fay Dzedze is a writer, interdisciplinary artist and creative consultant with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and organisations to shape meaningful, culturally attuned, and emotionally intelligent projects. Her work spans course design, storytelling, audience development, and 1:1 consulting; offering both creative strategy and grounded emotional support.

With a background in the UK global music scene, Yana has worked behind the scenes as a designer, copywriter, photographer, and filmmaker; collaborating with artists such as Seckou Keita, AKA Trio and Afriquoi, and supporting events including WOMAD, Musicport, and Tribe of Doris. Her early work focused on bringing visibility and coherence to independent creatives’ visions across visual, written, and live performance platforms.

She has curated and delivered numerous online programmes and digital learning experiences for global audiences, spanning themes such as creative entrepreneurship, cultural identity, communication, and project development. As a trained Emotional Clearing Facilitator, she brings particular sensitivity to the emotional and psychological dimensions of creative work, helping individuals navigate blocks, refine purpose, and develop work that feels both strategic and deeply personal.

Yana is the author of two personal memoirs, The Fire in My Belly and You Came With the Birds, which explore themes of belonging, identity, and relationship through the lens of her intercultural family life. Now based between Totnes, UK and Johannesburg, South Africa, she works closely with artists, educators, and change-makers; particularly those working across disciplines or at the intersection of art, culture, and community.

Through her consultancy work, Yana provides tailored 1:1 support and editorial guidance to artists and creatives developing projects with strong values foundations. She is especially skilled at holding space for complexity, drawing out clarity from nuance, and helping clients move from idea to impact with integrity.
